Business Development Director - PC Product Line   (Silicon Valley)

Requirements:

The Director of PC Business Development will be based in Silicon Valley and focus on expanding AuthenTec's growing Smart Sensor Solutions within the PC Product Line.  This candidate will focus on establishing and maintaining key relationships at all levels with partners that develop synergistic products and solutions with AuthenTec’s PC solutions with the end goal to expand the channel, awareness and adoption of AuthenTec’s products.   The candidate will have an in-depth understanding of the PC channel and determine the best way for AuthenTec to take full advantage of those channels to promote its solutions and grow its revenue and gain market share.   The successful candidate will utilize his/her skills in establishing partnerships, forming strong alliances, leveraging emerging trends and standards, structuring deals and managing program pursuits to ensure that AuthenTec product offerings maximally exploit industry trends and direction. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Establish partnerships and alliances with key software hardware and channel partners to expand AuthenTec’s market presence, increase revenue and implement key PC Strategies.
  • Work with PC Software and Hardware Product Management teams to understand the PC Software strategy, promote solutions and cultivate partnerships that are key to the overall success of the PC Product Line.
  • Work side by side with the eCommerce team to identify and secure key software partners that will sell and promote their products through the AuthenTec on-line store.
  • Help generate partner-specific requirements that feed the software Marketing Requirements Documents (MRDs) to drive the PC Software Roadmap.

 

Required Education/Experience:

  • BSEE / MSCS and MBA required.
  • Minimum of 2 years in an engineering / system integration role.
  • 5 – 10 years in marketing / business development role within the PC Market.
  • 5 – 10 years PC / security systems related pursuit work.
  • In-depth understanding of the PC channel.

Director of eCommerce Solutions   (Melbourne, FL or Silicon Valley)

Requirements:

The Director of eCommerce will develop and manage an on-line eCommerce strategy and plan  that will drive awareness, demand and revenue for our fingerprint Smart Sensor solutions  aimed at PC and mobile devices. The candidate will also be responsible for growing partner product awareness and increased partner revenues through the AuthenTec on-line channel.  The ideal candidate will have a history with software development, understands the fundamentals of direct marketing, possess a solid working knowledge of e-commerce technologies and tools and can drive and manage content creation. The candidate must have a proven track record in building and managing a successful eCommerce channel.  The candidate will leverage these experiences and successes to understand AuthenTec’s key technologies and drive an on-line eCommerce solution to expand AuthenTec’s market adoption.

The candidate must also have excellent sales planning, business development and marketing skills and must be capable of interfacing with senior management levels both internal and external to AuthenTec. Excellent presentation skills are required. Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for strategic oversight, development and management of all aspects of AuthenTec’s eCommerce solution with the goal of increasing revenue through the sale of both AuthenTec and Partner products and solutions.
  • Develop and drive the successful execution of new consumer-focused, on-line programs and campaigns targeted toward promoting both AuthenTec and partner products and services.

QA Manager - Test   (Melbourne, FL)

Requirements:

Lead and participate in the system level testing of all AuthenTec's products, based in Melbourne, Florida. Develop and implement operating methods/procedures to ensure effective testing and high quality delivery of released products. Work closely with internal engineering teams and external testing agencies where appropriate to achieve objectives.

 

We’re looking for a highly technical manager who has a strong background in software engineering, testing frameworks and automation to drive the overall planning, execution, and test tracking of projects.

 

AuthenTec's products are silicon fingerprint sensors deployed globally in numerous end applications and systems including PCs, cell phones, PDAs and access control. The software components include complex drivers to support the sensors, fingerprint matching algorithms, pointing device algorithms, security features and infrastructure to support fingerprint biometric authentication in third party applications.

 

Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of testers and automated testing engineers

• Manage the expansion of an ever-increasing set of automated test assets

• Manage test asset creation policies that enable/encourage development engineers to participate in test asset creation

• Design and implement new automated test modules as product functionality is added

Senior Software Test Engineer   (Melbourne, FL)

Requirements:

The senior software test engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the software quality system in a dynamic work environment.  The position reports directly to the Manager of Software QA Test, but interfaces primarily with our software development teams in Melbourne and China to ensure quality, schedule, feature, and cost requirements are satisfied.

 

Responsibilities:

This position requires a highly technical individual with a strong background in software quality management and software engineering.  Your responsibilities will include but are not be limited to:

• Design, architect and implement test frameworks and automation.

• Own the delivery of the entire software development test suites and frameworks and serve as a technical lead within the test team.

PC Software Applications Engineer   (Melbourne, FL)

Requirements:

The Applications Engineer will be responsible for providing applications engineering and software technical support of biometric fingerprint sensors into notebook PC designs. This individual will be responsible for providing timely and accurate technical product support for AuthenTec’s OEM, ODM and CM customers. This individual will be responsible for working with the PC Software Field Applications teams to make sure they are enabled to provide first-level support to AuthenTec’s customers.  This individual must analyze and resolve complex support issues in a PC environment under the Windows Operating Systems environment.

 

This individual is expected to: 

  • Support the FAE Team in the integration and deployment of USB Device Drivers in multiple versions of Windows.
  • Identify, debug and resolve driver issues on customer’s platform(s).
  • Identify, debug and resolve application issues on customer’s platform(s).
  • Support the FAE Team in the integration and deployment of the PC Application Software that runs with the biometric fingerprint reader and integrates the fingerprint device driver.
  • Support the AuthenTec Pre-Boot Authentication (PBA) solution.
  • Enter, track and close-out issues into the corporate-wide issues tracking database.
  • Work closely with the engineering and applications teams to identify/understand issues and drive customer problems to resolution.
  • Travel when needed; domestic and international.
  • Author technical application notes and white papers.

 

Required Education/Experience: 

  • Minimum education requirement is BSEE/CS.  MSEE/CS is a plus.

IC Packaging Engineer   (Melbourne, FL)

Requirements:

The IC packaging engineer will lead effort in the design and development of a new generation of semiconductor IC packaging for advanced finger print sensors. Focus will be on the development of custom substrates and coating materials.   This individual will provide direction to the chip designers in the development stage, along with Marketing personnel, to design an optimum cost effective, robust and aesthetically pleasing semiconductor package.  He/she will also provide direct technical support to customers and to the company’s offshore manufacturing partners.

 

Requirements:

Software Engineer   (Melbourne, FL)

Requirements:

Based in the Melbourne, FL headquarters, the Software Engineer will be responsible for device driver development, primarily under Windows. Initial responsibilities include writing unit, black-box, and white-box test code as well as updating exiting drivers to meet new requirements. Design and evolution of the drivers in support of future versions of Windows and other operating systems will be a required function. Another necessary aspect of the position will be problem isolation and timely resolution of issues with existing drivers, working with field applications engineers for customer releases.

Required Education/Experience:

  • One to two years experience developing and debugging device drivers (or similar experience with embedded development).
  • B.S in CS or EE or equivalent experience.
  • Very strong C/C++ programming skills.
